ABOUT US

Anchored Pathways to Higher Education is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2025. We support first-generation families and those new to the higher education system as they navigate college, career training, apprenticeships, and the steps that stand between them and their goals. Our guidance is bilingual, honest, and built around the families we serve — their language, their priorities, and their lived experience.

This organization did not start with a strategic plan. It started with one family, one real need, and a simple conviction: families deserve clear support when the path forward is confusing.

Founder Michelle Gutiérrez began by showing up in the places families already trusted — churches, local centers, school parking lots — and listening in their language. That relational foundation is still what shapes everything we build. Anchored Pathways exists to make the hidden rules of higher education more understandable, more human, and more navigable for families who are too often expected to figure them out alone.

What Guides Us

Every decision we make — every program we build, every partnership we pursue, every resource we put in someone's hands — is shaped by six core values.

These values are the standard we use to decide what to build, what to say yes to, and what to leave behind.

Our Commitment

We are especially committed to families who are new to the system — families who need honest, grounded guidance about college access, career pathways, and next steps that actually make sense for their lives.

We believe that access to opportunity should not depend on knowing the right people or speaking the right language. Families should be able to understand the system, trust the process, and move forward with clarity.

Anchored Pathways provides bilingual navigation support for families and schools across Texas. We offer educational guidance only and do not provide legal or financial advice.

Walk With Us

Whether you're a family trying to make sense of the next step, a school looking for a trusted bilingual partner, or someone who believes the path forward should be clear for everyone — we're here.

Because no one should make the journey alone.
