Photo & Video Release Policy
Effective Date: July 2026
Anchored Pathways to Higher Education may photograph, video record, or otherwise capture images, audio, or recordings during events, workshops, meetings, volunteer activities, community outreach, or other program-related activities. This policy explains how those materials may be used and what consent expectations apply.
Purpose of Media Use
Photos, videos, and recordings may be used by Anchored Pathways for nonprofit, educational, storytelling, outreach, awareness, fundraising, reporting, grant-related, archival, and promotional purposes. This may include use on the organization’s website, social media, newsletters, presentations, printed materials, sponsorship materials, annual reports, and related communications.
Consent for Adults
By participating in a public or organization-sponsored activity where notice is given that photography or recording may occur, adult participants may be understood to consent to being photographed or recorded, unless a separate written form is required for a particular activity. Anchored Pathways may also choose to request written permission for specific uses.
Consent for Minors
If a participant is under 18, Anchored Pathways should obtain parent or legal guardian permission before using an identifiable photo, video, or recording of that minor for promotional or public-facing purposes. Written parental consent is a recommended best practice for nonprofit use of minors’ images.
Anchored Pathways should avoid publishing a minor participant’s full name together with an identifiable image unless there is a clear reason and a separate, specific permission process.
Optional Non-Participation
Parents, guardians, and participants may decline media use where such an option is provided. Anchored Pathways should make reasonable efforts to honor requests not to photograph, record, or publish specific participants, although the organization may not be able to guarantee exclusion in every crowd or public event setting.
Withdrawal of Consent
A parent, guardian, or adult participant may request that Anchored Pathways stop future use of specific images or recordings that remain under the organization’s control. Anchored Pathways will make reasonable efforts to honor such requests going forward, but materials already printed, distributed, published, archived, or shared by third parties may not always be fully retrievable or removable.
No Compensation
Unless expressly agreed in writing, participants do not receive compensation for the use of photographs, videos, or recordings captured for Anchored Pathways purposes.
