Youth Participation & Consent Policy

Anchored Pathways to Higher Education provides educational guidance, college and career navigation, and related support for students in high school and older, along with families and community members when appropriate. This policy explains the organization’s approach to participation, consent, communication, and information collection for youth participants, including minors under age 18.
Eligibility
Anchored Pathways’ services are intended for students in high school and older. Anchored Pathways does not knowingly offer online services to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13.
Nature of Services
Anchored Pathways provides educational guidance and general information related to college, career, and postsecondary planning. Anchored Pathways does not provide legal advice, financial advice, therapy, clinical counseling, or emergency services.
Participation in programs, workshops, meetings, or advising support does not create a legal, clinical, or other licensed professional-client relationship. Submission of a meeting request or intake form does not guarantee services, placement, or appointment availability.
Consent for Minors
Because some participants may be under age 18, Anchored Pathways may request parent or guardian contact information, acknowledgment, or consent depending on the service, event, form, communication method, or activity involved. Parent or guardian consent may be required for certain activities, including but not limited to identifiable media use, event participation, or collection of more detailed intake information.priv.gc+1
Anchored Pathways may also communicate directly with student participants when appropriate for scheduling, reminders, educational support, event logistics, or follow-up related to requested services.
Information Collection
Anchored Pathways may collect limited personal information necessary to respond to requests, provide guidance, communicate with students and families, administer programs, and maintain internal records. Parent/Guardian Involvement
Anchored Pathways values family engagement and may encourage parent or guardian involvement when appropriate, especially for minors. However, the level of family involvement may vary based on the participant’s age, the nature of the service, the purpose of communication, and program design.
Safety and Participation Expectations
Participants are expected to engage respectfully with staff, volunteers, partners, and other participants. Anchored Pathways reserves the right to limit or discontinue participation when conduct creates a safety concern, disrupts services, violates program expectations, or misuses the organization’s resources or systems.
